This paper describes the steps for calibration of a radon concentration chamber (
222
Rn) using
comparatively three radon detectors: Active Alpha Guard detector (PQ2000 PRO model -
Genitron Instruments), passive detector plastic LEXAN (contained in chamber diffusion, with
electrochemical revelation) and activated carbon liability detector (contained in metal containers
and measured by gamma spectrometry). A radio standard was used (
226
Ra) for the generation
of
222
Rn in the exposure of the detectors inside the camera (NIST SRM 4973 source type).
Appropriate measurements were made after completing the whole procedure exposure data
were used to calculate the standard deviation and conclusion.
